There are all kinds of 'Specialty Gardens' that we can create. This Killingworth client wanted to attract birds. It came down to selecting and placing both flowers and shrubs that would attract birds and provide shelter. We selected a solar birdbath that constantly recirculates water.

Layers of Color in Madison
Once a plain yew hedge, this Madison couple wanted a more quaint cottage style garden. We filled their space with colorful flowers. Tall perennial sunflower, Russian Sage and coneflower give height without obstructing the porch. Lower varieties include lavender, gaura, and coreopsis. There is always something in bloom in this lovely front porch garden.

Elegant Simplicity in Clinton
This Clinton client wanted elegance and simplicity. We reclaimed the weeping cherry and lilac and then installed shrubs on a smaller scale that enhanced the front garden but will never outgrow their space. Colorful foliage and re-blooming species add just enough variety.

Women & Family Services
We teamed up with the Madison Women's Club to plant up this area for Women and Family Service in Guilford. One of the most touching gardens we've ever done. Shortly after the installation, Women and Family Services received a letter from a woman who had been badly battered. She had been there several times but never had the courage to seek help. The newly planted garden inspired her to go in and now she's on her way to a healthy new start.

Old Saybrook Garden
These Old Saybrook clients started planning early! They contacted us when there was still snow on the ground. We designed a garden that transitions from full sun to full shade. We included her favorite perennials and added in some additional additional fragrant perennials. When spring came and the snow melted, their garden was installed. They were able to enjoy it all summer.

Color in Killingworth
This Killingworth island garden is filled with a variety of perennials. When one group of flowers is just about done blooming, another bunch starts to bloom. This perennial garden has blooms from early spring daffodils through the summer and into the fall with sedum and mums.

Large Containers in Madison
This Madison courtyard has 4 large containers placed in a decorative gravel bed. We filled them with colorful perennials. These are great flowers for cutting and our client has a fresh bouquet directly from her garden all summer.

This client had overgrown boxwoods and rhododendrons along their garage. We removed them and replaced them with shrubs and perennials that have beautiful flowers but the added bonus of interesting foliage color and detail.

Raised Veggie Garden In Old Saybrook
This Fenwick client was very interested in growing their own herbs and veggies during the summers. We created two raised beds to give them the real estate they needed but also make it easy to get at any herb or veggie from anywhere in the garden. She can now sit on the edge and reach the middle of the gardens from either side.

This triangular garden on the side of a vanishing edge pool in Madison is a summer delight. Echinacea, sea lavender and a medley of perennials bloom all summer long.

This Fenwick home is filled with gardens. The homeowners inherited an old, overgrown privet hedge. We reclaimed the hedge and created an entry through the hedge into the vegetable garden from their patio.

This New York couple delights in a summer home in Clinton. An escape from the concrete jungle of Manhattan, these clients entrusted us to fill their beach home with color. The client is rarely there in the off season so emphasis was placed on color during the height of the summer.

French Provincial Garden
Delineation between properties can be important, but if not done carefully can also be offensive. This client wanted some delineation between she and her neighbors. Not wanting to offend, we installed a short picked fence and filled the front with perennials. Now instead of being an offensive fence, it's just a garden border delightful to both neighbors.

These Madison clients wanted to enhance their hillside. We planted lots of hostas and other shade plants with a variety of foliage colors. We incorporated a stone bench and this has now become a favorite summer reading nook.
